Chapter 1: The spiritual burden
My name is Tommy Hicks and I'm from Canada. What I'm about to relate happened in the city of Winnipeg. Specifically, in the early morning of July 25th, 1961, I remember it was around 2:30 in the morning, and I was struggling with a spiritual burden that wouldn't let me sleep, a deep unease about the state of the church and ministry in the end times. In those days, my mind kept circling over a question that constantly hammered at my spirit. Were we truly prepared for the final revival that God promised to send to the earth?
Or were we simply playing at religion? I felt that the modern church had lost its expectation, that we had stopped believing in the tangible manifestation of God's power, settling for empty rituals and a spiritual coldness that chilled me to the bone and drove me to desperately seek the Lord's face in the solitude of my room. As I prayed in that silent early morning, a story I had heard about a region in Africa came to mind. They were suffering from a terrible drought and the pastors decided to unite to cry out for rain. That memory felt vivid in my mind.
I imagined that young pastor who in front of a crowd of religious leaders from different denominations instead of offering a long and dramatic prayer for water simply raised his eyes to the sky and asked the Lord to increase his faith. I remembered how the other pastors became furious with him, questioning why he had wasted such a critical opportunity asking for something as abstract as faith instead of asking for the rain that their parched and cracked land so desperately needed. That young pastor's response resonated in my heart that night in Winnipeg like a divine judgment. He told them that when he looked around the congregation, he didn't see anyone with umbrellas, which showed that although they were there to pray, no one truly believed it would rain, that reflection struck me deeply, making me question my own life and the life of the church around me. We were asking for revival.
We were asking for the latter reign of the spirit, but our lives didn't show the preparation or the real expectation of receiving it. I felt a deep sadness recognizing that many times we act with hypocrisy full of resentment, divisions, and human mindsets that block the genuine flow of the Holy Spirit, preventing God from moving freely.
Chapter 2: Letter from a native
However, in the midst of that meditation on the lack of faith, the Lord brought to my hands a letter I had received weeks earlier from one of our native evangelists in Nairobi, a simple man who couldn't even read or write. The letter recounted how he and his wife walking toward Tangana came across a town devastated by a deadly plague that had forced the evacuation of the entire area, leaving behind a scene of desolation and death that contrasted violently with the comfortable theology we sometimes preach. They found some natives weeping, who explained that their parents had died three days earlier and that they were terrified to return to the hut where the lifeless bodies lay, fearing they would contract that fulminant disease. The evangelist, moved by a faith that needs no human logic, decided to enter that hut despite the danger and the smell of death that surely permeated the place after 3 days. I read those lines and my heart burned because this man had no great titles or diplomas.
But he had the certainty of Christ's authority. He called the deceased by name, clasped their cold, rigid hands, and with supernatural authority cried out in the name of the Lord Jesus, commanding that life returned to those inert bodies. It was instantaneous. The power of God descended on that forgotten corner of the world. And those two people who didn't even know the gospel sat down and began to praise God, testifying that the spirit of life had returned to them.
By contrasting the story of the pastors without umbrellas with that of this humble evangelist raising the dead, I understood that God was about to change the rules of the game for the end times and that he would use the unknown. I felt in my spirit that what seems like a strange phenomenon to us would be the norm. That God would take those whom the world considers nobodyies, men and women of no social importance, to pour out his spirit upon them without measure. I remembered the words of the prophet in the book of Acts where it says that in the last days God would pour out his spirit on all flesh. And for the first time I felt that this promise was not a distant metaphor but an imminent reality that was about to burst forth before my spiritual eyes tonight lying in bed but fully awake in my spirit.
I understood that to be part of this movement. It wasn't enough to attend church a painful process of cleansing and consecration was necessary. I felt that I had to examine my own heart, ask the Lord to reveal to me if there were any paths of wickedness, ministerial pride, or unforgiveness within me because I understood that God cannot visit a defiled temple. Holiness ceased to be a religious concept for me and became a requirement for spiritual survival. An urgent need to remove every obstacle, every mental box that limits the Almighty so that I can be a new wine skin capable of containing the new wine he was preparing to pour out upon the nations.
Suddenly, as my mind wandered
Chapter 3: The vision of the giant
among these truths, and the presence of God filled my room, I felt natural sleep overcome me. But my spiritual eyes opened wide. The vision came to me so clearly and powerfully that I didn't know if I was in my body or outside of it. I saw myself lifted to a great height, suspended somewhere in space from where I could contemplate the entire earth. The world unfolded before my eyes like a living map.
I could see every nation, every people, every language, from east to west, and from north to south, recognizing cities I had visited, and others I had never seen, all under an atmosphere of expectation and awe, the instant the world became visible before my eyes. Lightning and thunder that were not of this world began to erupt. Sounds that reverberated in my chest and made my being tremble. As the lightning illuminated the face of the earth with blinding flashes, I looked down at the northern hemisphere and saw something that left me perplexed and breathless. There, stretched across entire continents, lay what appeared to be an immense giant.
Its feet touched the North Pole and its head reached the South Pole, and its arms stretched from one ocean to the other, covering the land with its immensity, a colossal figure that seemed to struggle to breathe. At first, I couldn't tell if it was a mountain range or a living being. But as I sharpened my spiritual vision, I unequivocally recognized it as a giant in a pitiful state, I could see that it was struggling for life, desperately trying to regain strength. But its body was covered in rubble, filth, and ruins, as if it had been buried under the debris of history and oblivion. The most terrifying thing was that every time the giant tried to move or stand, thousands of small, hideous creatures, beings of darkness, escaped from its body, fleeing the movement.
But as soon as the giant stirred and fell again from its weakness, those creatures returned to torment and cover it once more. Suddenly, before my astonished, that immense giant began to move with supernatural determination, raising first one hand to the heavens and then the other in a gesture of utter surrender. As he did this, the thousands of creatures that tormented him fled in terror into the darkness of the night, unable to bear the movement of faith that was taking place, slowly the giant rose fully to his feet. And as he stood, his head and hands reached the clouds, shaking off the rubble and filth that had covered him for so long. I understood at that moment that this gesture of raising his hands was not merely physical, but represented the hunger and thirst for God that we so desperately need.
That desperate cry that says, "Lord, I need you more than the air I breathe. A genuine search for his face that breaks any bond of religiosity and stagnation." The instant his hands touched the clouds, they transformed, turning a brilliant silver, the most beautiful and pure silver I have ever seen, the phenomenon was so magnificent that my human mind could not fully grasp its meaning. But my spirit knew I was witnessing something holy. Deeply moved by the scene, I cried out to the Lord from the depths of my being, asking what it meant.
And though my body lay in bed, I felt God's presence more real than ever. It was then that from those silver clouds, great drops of liquid light began to fall, a radiant rain pouring down upon the towering giant, covering him completely with an anointing that seemed to melt his very structure. Answering the cry of the latter rain promised in scripture. What happened next took my breath away. Very
Chapter 4: Rain of light
slowly, under the weight of that liquid glory, the giant began to melt and spread across the surface of the earth. As his singular form dissolved, I saw him suddenly become millions of individual people scattered across the globe, men and women standing, raising their hands and praising the Lord with the same fire that the giant possessed. I understood that God W wasn't looking for a massive organizational structure, but a living body composed of millions of believers filled with the Holy Spirit. I remembered the prophecy in Joel chapter 2 where it says that he will send the early and latter reign. And I knew I was witnessing the final fulfillment where God pours out his spirit on all flesh that hungers and thirsts for his presence.
At that precise moment, a great clap of thunder roared in the heavens with a power that shook the foundations of my vision. And as I turned my eyes toward the sound, I saw a figure clothed in respplendant white. It was the most glorious and intense white that has ever existed, a light that emanated purity and absolute power. Although I couldn't see his face clearly, in my heart I knew with absolute certainty that it was the Lord Jesus Christ. He began to extend his hand, directing it toward one person, then another, and another, moving sovereignly over the nations and the people of the world.
Each time he pointed towards someone, a liquid light flowed from his hands toward them, pouring out a powerful anointing that instantly transformed them, equipping them for a mission that seemed humanly impossible. I beheld Christ as he continued to extend his hand tirelessly.
Chapter 5: Divine commissioning
But then I witnessed a tragedy that broke my heart and filled me with profound sadness. There were many to whom he extended his hand to gift this power. People I knew, men and women whom I believed with certainty had a calling from God and were pillars in the church. However, upon receiving the Lord's invitation, they simply bowed their heads, refused to receive the anointing, and turned their backs on him, retreating into the darkness that completely engulfed them. I understood that these were the ones who had not prepared themselves, who harbored bitterness, pride, or hidden sins that prevented them from receiving the new wine, leaving them out of the final revival because they had not cleansed their garments in time.
Despite this painful desertion, the people who did receive the anointing numbered in the hundreds and thousands throughout the world. In Africa, England, Russia, China, and America, God's anointing fell upon people without distinction of social class or education. I saw ditch diggers, cleaning women, rich men, and poor men alike. Titles and diplomas did not matter. The only thing that mattered was that their hearts were willing and cleansed to receive the flow of God's river.
I saw people who had previously suffered from paralysis, disease, blindness, and deafness, who upon receiving that touch of liquid light, were instantly healed and moved forward without hesitation, ready to serve the King of Kings with a renewed strength that did not come from themselves. The most glorious miracle of all was seeing how these simple people began to operate in the same power as Jesus. They all extended their hands exactly as the Lord did. They seemed to have that same liquid fire flowing through their arms. And as they extended them forward, they declared with authority according to my word, "Be healed."
They did not offer long or complicated prayers, there were no empty rituals. The people simply acted in this powerful end times ministry with a faith that moved mountains. I watched them advance with absolute confidence, knowing that it wasn't they doing the work, but the spirit of God flowing through vessels of clay that had been sanctified and filled with his presence. I observed all this in wonder, trying to grasp every detail of how this divine operation was taking place on a global scale. So I turned my gaze to the Lord and asked him what the deep meaning of all this was.
He answered me with a voice that filled the entire space. This is what I will do in the last days. I will restore everything that the caterpillar, the aphid, and the worm have destroyed. His words resonated with hope and promise, confirming that in the last days, his people would not be a defeated and hidden church, but would march like a mighty army across the face of the earth, reclaiming the territory the enemy had stolen and manifesting the glory of God in every corner of the planet. From my high
Chapter 6: Global movement
vantage point, I could survey the entire world and witness the constant movement of these spirit-filled people traveling across the earth with supernatural speed. One moment I would see a man in Africa being transported by the spirit of God to Russia or someone from China appearing in America and vice versa crossing borders without visas or human transport. These people traveled the world through fire, pestilence and famine, and nothing seemed to stop them. Fire could not burn them, nor could persecution halt their progress, for they were clothed in an authority superior to any earthly threat. Enraged mobs marched toward them with swords and pistols, attempting to violently stop this movement of God.
But something similar to what we read in the Gospels about Jesus occurred. They would pass through the midst of the enraged crowd and then simply vanish from sight, becoming unreachable for their pursuers, but continue onward in the name of the Lord elsewhere. Everywhere they shook hands. The sick were healed, and the eyes of the blind were instantly opened. There were no long vigils of agonizing supplication, but rather demonstrations of power.
I realized that I had never seen a church building, nor did I hear any denominational names in this vision. These people moved forward solely in the name of the Lord of Hosts, united by one spirit and one purpose, they marched forward with unwavering determination, manifesting Christ's ministry on earth with a purity I had never seen in any human institution. They ministered to the multitudes with a power that came not from eloquence or rhetoric, but from a tangible anointing that instantly broke yolks. When these people stood to deliver the message of the coming kingdom, tens of thousands and even millions seemed to come to the Lord Jesus Christ in that final hour, surrendering to the truth, not through intellectual conviction, but through a swift conviction of sin. It was exceedingly glorious to see the harvest of the end times being gathered in a supernatural way, confirming that when man steps aside and lets God act, the results surpass any human expectation or evangelistic strategy.
However, the scenario wasn't all about easy victory. For there were others who rebelled violently and enraged by the light that exposed their darkness, attacked the workers who were trying to share the message of salvation with them. In this final hour, God was giving the world a great demonstration of what had never
Chapter 7: Persecution and hope
been seen before. Men and women from every social stratum, for whom certificates and diplomas no longer meant anything, were operating under an impenetrable divine covering. I observed the way these workers advanced across the face of the earth and noticed something that deeply moved my spirit. When one of them stumbled and fell due to exhaustion or the struggle, the other would immediately come and lift him up with tenderness and strength. Beloved family, we know that God is awakening his people and that this is a decisive time.
If upon hearing this testimony, you felt the Lord speaking to you, but you find yourself going through a desert, an illness, or a struggle that has stolen your peace, we want to tell you that you are not alone in this battle. We believe in the power of covenant and in a God who answers. If you need us to join with you in faith for a difficult situation, please share your prayer request with confidence. It will be an honor for us to bring your name before the throne of grace and believe together for your miracle and your restoration. Let us continue.
Among them, there was no such poisonous competition that has so damaged the church. There was no such thing as I am the greatest or you are so small because every mountain had been made low and every valley exalted above all. They seemed to share something that bound them together beyond blood. A divine love and a gape love that flowed from them as they did the work together and lived as one body. It was such a glorious scene, something never before seen in the history of the institutional church.
Jesus Christ was their entire reason for living. and that burning passion consumed any trace of selfishness or personal vanity. As they persevered in the mission, the days seemed to fly by, accelerating toward the final fulfillment of all things, 18 minuteswatching them from my heavenly perspective. I couldn't help but sometimes weep with emotion and at other times be filled with the joy and holy laughter that sprang from within. It was wonderful to see them advancing on earth and carrying out the mission of the end times with divine effectiveness.
Undeterred by anything or anyone, I observed from the sky that at times great torance of that liquid light were poured out upon entire multitudes. And as the spirit of God descended upon them, these multitudes raised their hands praising God for hours and even entire days without tiring. God had said, "I will pour out my spirit on all flesh." And this was exactly what was happening before my eyes. The promise had become a tangible reality.
Both men and women were receiving the power and anointing of God, and there was no pause in the miracles they performed, for the channel was clear, and the source was inexhaustible. We have spoken so much of miracles, signs, and wonders in our sermons. But that morning at 4, I could not hold back my tears as I grasped the magnitude of what is to come. I thought again of the letter from our native worker in Africa and understood that this was only the beginning. The small cloud the size of a man's hand that heralds the torrential downpour.
It was evidence that a man who might be considered a nobody and unknown to the religious system can extend his hands and say in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and see the glory of God manifested if his heart is prepared. Again I fell to my knees in prayer in my room, trembling before the holiness of God and saying, "Lord, I know this time is coming. Help me to be ready. Give me that hunger and thirst I saw in them." And as I prayed, the vision continued.
And I saw that yet another great persecution seemed to be coming, this time attacking from every corner of the earth with demonic fury. As the workers spread throughout the world, carrying the light, the darkness fought back in desperation. But suddenly another thunderclap resounded across the entire surface of the earth. A sound of supreme authority. I heard again a powerful voice saying, "This is my people now.
Chapter 8: Resurrection and wedding
This is my beloved bride." A declaration of ownership and love that shook the spiritual universe. As the voice spoke, I looked down at the earth and could see the lakes, the mountains, and the valleys. And then I witnessed the miracle of the resurrection with breathtaking clarity. I saw the tombs open, and from them rose people from all over the world, the saints of all ages emerging from their rest, rising from the tomb.
They ascended and approached from every direction, from the east and the west, from the north and the south, converging at a central point. They seemed to form once again the body of the giant I had seen at the beginning. The dead in Christ being the first to rise to join those who were alive and transformed. I realized what this was all about and the revelation was exceedingly wonderful. Something beyond anything anyone could dream or imagine in their finite mind.
Suddenly, the immense body began to stand upright and again took the form and appearance of the giant, but this time with a great difference that marked its final and eternal state. Now he was clothed in a beautiful, precious white garment, a robe of fine linen, radiant and pure, representing the righteous deeds of the saints. As his body took shape, I noticed that his entire garment was without spot or wrinkle. There was no trace of the dirt and debris that had covered him at first, for he had been completely washed and sanctified. People of all ages seemed to cling to the body, becoming part of his limbs, and little by little he rose and extended toward heaven itself, connecting earth with eternity.
Suddenly, from the celestial heights, the Lord Jesus Christ descended in majesty and became his head, uniting the body with the head in a perfect and indisoluble union. Immediately I heard the rumble of another thunderclap that proclaimed the final truth. This is my beloved bride for whom I have waited so long. She will emerge victorious, facing the trial by fire. She is the one I have loved since the beginning of time.
I felt the Lord's jealous and powerful love for his church. A love that had prepared this moment before the foundation of the world. My eyes guided by the spirit looked north into the distance and I saw a terrifying contrast. Imminent destruction loomed over those who had rejected grace. I saw men and women filled with anguish and weeping, buildings collapsing in complete destruction, the world's system grumbling before divine judgment.
I also
Chapter 9: Divine judgment
heard a fourth voice, terrible and righteous, saying, "Now my wroth is poured out on all the earth and on the ends of the world. God's wroth was seen unleashed with great bowls full of his indignation pouring out upon the earth. And I understood that the time of grace had ended to give way to the time of judgment, definitively separating light from darkness. I can remember this as if it happened just moments ago. Etched in my memory, shaken and trembling, I gazed upon that horrific scene of judgment.
Witnessing entire cities and nations fall into utter destruction. I could hear the weeping and moaning of the people crying out as well as the desperate cries as they tried to hide in the caves of the earth seeking refuge from the wroth of God. Lamb. But the mountain caves did not hide them. And in their anguish they threw themselves into the water seeking death. But the water did not drown them. There was nothing they could do to escape.
Although they wished to end their lives to avoid facing judgment. Death seemed to flee from them in those moments of absolute terror, leaving them alone before the eternity they had ignored. But again, I turned my eyes to the glorious scene that displayed the giant's body, now transformed into the bride, adorned in the white and respplendant dress that shone with the light of the sky. Little by little, that immense and glorious body began to ascend from the earth, detaching itself from the gravity of this world, rising to meet her beloved in the air. As I watched them walk away from destruction into eternal glory, I felt a mixture of relief and indescribable longing.
And as I did, the vision faded, and I woke up in my room. The scene I had been beholding was over. But I knew in my spirit that I had witnessed the end times ministry in its decisive hour. On July 27th, 1961, at in the morning, I had the same vision again. The revelation returned in the same way, confirming that this was not a passing dream, but an urgent divine warning. My life changed radically as I realized that we are living in the end times and that God is about to unite an army of men and women for this final ministry.
I understood that sadly there are thousands of Christians who will not be able to perceive or enjoy this final move of God because they are not prepared, not ready or simply do not yearn for it in their hearts with the necessary intensity.
Chapter 10: Call to consecration
After seeing all of this, I deeply understood the story of the pastor and the rain with which I began my account. We need to be like the one carrying his umbrella with a real and tangible expectation. I realized that to be part of that rising giant, I must consecrate myself and remove from myself everything that hinders the power or movement of God in my personal life. God cannot visit a temple that has obstacles. I understood that things like greed, materialism, or evil desires are barriers that stop the rain.
I remembered what James chapter 4 says that was and do not receive because we ask strongly to spend it on our own pleasures. and I knew that my prayer had to change. In my deep reflection, I understood that resentment and bitterness are deadly poisons for revival. If I hold on to bitterness over something that was done to me years ago, I am blocking the flow of the spirit. Unforgiveness, enmities, and divisions like those in the church of Corinth with people saying, "I am of Paul or I am of Apollo are the chains that keep the giant tied to the ground.
Religiousness, man-made dogmas, and the spirit of ricle criticism must be uprooted if we want to see the glory of God. Just as one takes off dirty clothes to bathe, I must take off my mental frameworks and prejudices to receive the fresh water of the latter rain. My prayer became the cry of the psalmist David in Psalm 139. Search me, oh God, and know my heart. Test me and know my anxious thoughts.
I began to ask the Lord to reveal to me if there was any wicked path in me, any hidden sin or an incorrect attitude that was hindering his movement in me. And I understood that when God reveals himself, there are no excuses that hold water. All that remains is to humble oneself, ask for forgiveness, and genuinely repent. If his people humble themselves, pray and seek his face, then he will hear from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal the land. That is the master key to personal and global revival.
But it is not enough to simply cleanse oneself. I learned that the second vital step is to develop an unsatisfying hunger and thirst for his presence, a passion that burns within. God does not speak to people who consider themselves satisfied and spiritually rich. He ministers only to a generation that hungers like the deer that pants for streams of water. In Psalm 42, "My soul must thirst for the living God, a longing that leads me to seek him early in the morning."
As Psalm 63 says, "Not for benefits or blessings, but for who he is. A cold and apathetic generation will never be clothed by the power of God. But the hungry will be satisfied and used for the final great harvest. The great revivals of history like the Asusa street revival or the Welsh revival didn't begin with multitudes, but with individuals who allowed God to stir them first. The flame must begin to burn in my own heart before it can ignite others.
I must be the one who cries out in desperation, "Lord, do it again." I want to be among those who have their umbrellas ready. I want to be a protagonist, not just a spectator of what God is going to do in these end times. My desire is that the liquid light I saw in the vision will flow through my hands to heal liberate and restore a broken world that cries out for hope. Today I feel in my spirit that the Lord is seeking those nobodyies, those unknown souls willing to pay the price of consecration and intense seeking.
I have decided that I will not be left out, that I will not be among those who bow their heads and return to darkness when Jesus extends his hand. I want to be part of that army in white robes, of that beloved bride 29 minuteswho marches victoriously through trials, filled with divine love and supernatural power. My cry is constant. Lord, here I am. Use my life. Fill me with your spirit and allow me to march in your name until the final day.
Christ is coming soon and the vision is clear. The giant is rising. The rain is falling and the harvest is ready. It is not a time to sleep. It is a time to awaken, to cleanse the altar and light the fire. It is a time to walk in the supernatural as if it were natural. I have seen the end of the story. I have seen the victory of the church and the coming glory. And for that reason, with every fiber of my being, I am ready to move forward without looking back in the name of Jesus.
I believe that I will see the glory of God in the land of the living. And that together with millions of brothers and sisters, we will rise up to fight the last and greatest battle of faith that the world has ever known. My beloved, I would like to offer a prayer before concluding this powerful testimony. Beloved heavenly father, king
Chapter 11: Closing prayer
of the universe and lord of hosts, I come today before your throne of grace, in the mighty name of your son Jesus Christ, I come before you with a humble and contrite heart, acknowledging that you are the God of time and seasons, the one who promised to pour out his spirit on all flesh in these last days. Lord, I have heard your voice through this testimony, and my spirit trembles before the magnitude of what you are about to do on earth. I do not want to be a spectator. I do not want to fall asleep while your glory is revealed. I yearn to be part of that remnant that rises in power and authority.
Father, I ask that you examine my heart right now, as the psalmist did. Shine your light in the depths of my being and reveal to me if there is any path of wickedness within me any root of bitterness, unforgiveness, pride or religiosity that is blocking the flow of your holy spirit. Today I renounce every mental box, every human scheme and every spiritual coldness that has prevented me from receiving your reign. Cleanse me, Lord, with the precious blood of Jesus. Take away from me the vile garments, the rubble and filth of the world, and clothe me in fine linen, sparkling and pure, so that I may stand in your presence.
Lord, I cry out for that latter rain you promised in Joel. Pour out upon my life that fresh anointing, that liquid fire that transforms the weak into the strong and the cowardly into the brave. I hunger for you. I thirst for your presence more than for my own life. I don't seek your benefits. I seek your face. I want to know you intimately so that I can reveal you publicly. Break all baroness in my spiritual life.
And make me a new wine skin capable of holding the new wine of your revival. May my hands be extensions of your hands to heal the sick. Set the captives free and bring life where there is death. Almighty God, unite us as one body. Let every wall of division, competition, and vain glory fall among your children. Raise us up like that spiritual giant, like that bride adorned and ready, marching together, bound by the bond of perfect love.
Equip me for the difficult times to pass through the fire and the trial without being burned, sustained only by your power. That when the world sees my life, it may not see me. But Christ formed in me, working with miracles, signs, and wonders for the salvation of the multitudes. I consecrate myself to you this day. Here I am, Lord. Send me. Use me in my home, at my work, in my city, and to the ends of the earth.
I declare that my lamp is full of oil. That my spirit is awake and that my eyes are fixed on the heavens awaiting your coming. May your kingdom come and your will be done in my life as it is in heaven. I give you all the glory, honor, and praise. For you alone are worthy in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
