Chapter 1: The deception of television
Brothers and sisters, I want to share my testimony with you. I had an encounter with Satan in the living room of my house. And I'm not talking about seeing him face to face in an ordinary way. I have a face and the devil has a face, but I am made in the image and likeness of Christ. Brothers and sisters, I was a member of the Deacmore church for seven years. I worshiped the pastor, why are you like this?
Do you still carry the doctrine from that church? No, I carry the doctrine of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I want to tell you, brothers and sisters, that I had a 20-in television in my house. At the same time, I was going out evangelizing. How many of you are paying attention? Say, "Amen." Look at me. Don't talk to me over there. Go ahead and give God glory. You're not going to distract me, are you? I had that television in my house and I confessed to you brothers and sisters that I prayed.
I'm not going to say that I didn't pray. I continued praying for 2 hours a day. I went out evangelizing. I handed out leaflets. I visited people in their homes. I visited brothers and sisters who did not believe. I was doing the work of the father just as I still do today. But the television never seemed to interfere with my relationship with God. I used to think I'm a believer. I go to church. I'm not going to stop going to church because of television.
I would say it's not as though I'm staying home from church to watch a movie. I go to church and when I come home, I watch television. There's nothing wrong with that. I was completely convinced that everything was normal. I would cast out demons and say, "Come out in the name of Jesus." And they would come out. I thought, "I'm saved. Mercy." Some of the brothers from Dear Camore would come to me and say, "You can't keep doing this."
And I would say, "I don't listen to David Miranda. I don't listen to anyone. I only listen to my Jesus." They would tell me, "If you really listened to him, you would have removed the television from your house a long time ago. But I was doing the work of the father. And so many brothers kept insisting that I get rid of it." I confess, brothers and sisters, that I watched all kinds of movies, everything you can imagine that was shown on television.
Whenever I tell this testimony, I go through a tremendous spiritual battle because Satan whispers in my ear, "Stop. Don't continue." But we are going to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit of God.
Chapter 2: A supernatural encounter
Brothers and sisters, one night I arrived home late. I said, "Father, I'm not going to say, "If you are God, prove that you are God. But give me a sign. If this television set is not from the Lord, show me. I remember sitting the watching television. I was sitting on the sofa watching. Suddenly, the television screen exploded. At first, I thought it was strange, but then I realized that something serious was happening.
Black smoke began coming out of the television. Now, I'm going to describe what I saw. Nobody should play around with the enemy. But if you have the power of God, he is nothing. I saw him standing there. From the waist down, he appeared like a black cloud. From the waist upward, his skin looked like the hide of an alligator. His arms were skeletal, and black fire was coming from his fingernails. He was wearing a leather cap.
It was black and red. Black and red. His nose was shaped like a hook. His teeth were sharp and pointed. His eyes were cloudy, but reddish black fire was coming from them. And in my spirit, I cried out. I fast. I pray, you are nothing, Satan. In the name of Jesus, come out. Then he said to me, "Who are you to cast me out?" His leg began to tremble. His tongue moved and he said, "You watch me and I watch you.
Pay attention. You do the work for the man up there." When you call on the name of the man up there, I leave. But I want to see you cast me out right now. You called on the name of Jesus, but I did not leave. Everything is happening by God's permission. Now cast me out. I want to see you do it. Then he said, "You watch me. You see what I do. I put those programs on television. You see the crimes I commit.
I throw people from bridges. I kill people. I cause people to commit terrible things. And you are watching everything I do." Then he looked at me and said, "Pastor, you are committing adultery." I said that is a lie. I have never cheated on my wife in my life. He said you are committing adultery. Do you want to see? I enter into married couples. Let me give you an example. Imagine a married couple.
The man is married to his wife in real life. They live peacefully together. But he is an actor and she is an actress. The devil said to me, "Look at what I do." The man receives a script telling him to be with another actress, and his wife receives a script telling her to be with another actor. Then they act out the scene. Everything is fiction. That woman is not his wife. That man is not her husband.
Everything is acting. But the devil said, "I bring them together in that bed. I make them do everything they are supposed to do and you sit there watching and saying go ahead that's right do it bring her over here and you call yourself a child of God while watching it then the devil said you agree with everything I do and the word of God says that if you agree with what someone is doing you participate in that act even if you are not physically committing it yourself you are agreeing with adultery without realizing it. Do you understand? Thank God Jesus delivered me.
He delivered me from these sinful things for the honor and glory of Jesus Christ. There were soap operas, movies, pornography, and every kind of filth that comes through television. I came to believe that all of it was from Satan. Pastor, what about this? I want to see you on the day of holy communion sitting in front of the television. Is the television going to give you communion? No. A believer should have the things of God in his house to praise him and glorify his name.
Brothers and sisters, I confess to you that the devil said something to me. He said, "Wherever there is a television set, that is my throne and I am sitting there." Brothers and sisters, he was standing about 1 and a half meters away from me. Suddenly, I felt something pulling at my soul. Have you ever seen a magnet pull iron? That is what it felt like. My soul began being pulled toward the abyss.
I felt myself descending into darkness. I cried out. Jesus, Father, have mercy. Forgive my sins. Forgive my words. Forgive my iniquity. Forgive me, Lord. Forgive my feet. Forgive my hands. Forgive my mouth. Have mercy on me, Jesus. I kept descending down and down and down. There was nothing but darkness. There wasn't even the smallest light. But in the middle of that darkness, I heard a divine voice.
The voice said, "My son, did you not ask me for a sign?" I said, "Yes, Jesus." And he said, "Here is your sign." I said, "Jesus, I have seen everything. Have mercy on me." And in a fraction of a second, he took my soul and returned it to my body. I was there with my hand raised. Then God said to me, "My son, now I give you authority. I place a ball of fire in your hands. Cast Satan out now. Brothers and sisters, God said it.
And I confess to you that a ball of fire came into my hands. A ball of fire in my hands. I cried, "Satan, come out in the name of Jesus." That fire struck Satan. He turned into something like a piece of dust and disappeared. Then I turned toward the television and said, Until now, you have deceived me. You are the master inside my house. But from this moment on, this house belongs to my God. Get out.
Now you can sit down. Why do you keep standing up and sitting down? Sit down and stand up. That's the believer's exercise. Pay attention. A sister from the Assembly of God came to
Chapter 3: A sign for a sister
me. She said, "Pastor Rean, I want to ask you something. I'm having doubts. If God gave you a sign, then he has to give me one, too. I'm going to challenge God. I'm going to ask God for a sign. I'm going to unplug my television." She was sincere with me. She said, "Pastor, I like television. I like watching my soap opera. Do you remember the soap opera van? That was the one we watched back then. I said, "Sister, you like watching it?"
She said, "Yes." I said, "Mercy," she told me. I'm going to unplug the television in my house for one week. Today is Sunday. Tomorrow I'm going to unplug it. I'm going to go from Monday to Sunday without watching television. And if God is real and if he doesn't want me watching television, then something will happen during that week. He will give me a sign. I looked at her and said, "Sister, do you believe?"
She said, "Yes." I told her, "The same God who gave me a sign will do the same for you. I'm going to spend seven days praying for you. God will reveal himself to you somehow." Monday came. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. The sister was probably thinking, "What is this pastor talking about? Is he just making this up?" But she was in her kitchen preparing some vegetables in her blender.
Suddenly, something happened. The heavens seemed to thunder. The kitchen window shattered. Then the electrical wiring and outlets began to break apart. The wall began cracking. It kept breaking and breaking. The damage continued through the kitchen ceiling. She watched in fear as everything continued breaking apart. Then it reached the living room. The damage came down the wall straight toward the television.
Remember the television was unplugged. It continued downward until it reached the electrical outlet where the television had been plugged in. Then suddenly, bang, the television moved and she heard a voice saying, "My daughter, never doubt my profits. If you believe, you will prosper. What I showed my son, I am showing you." She looked at the television. It looked as though someone had struck it with an axe.
She said, "My God is alive. If God does not want me to watch television, and he doesn't want you to watch it either, then for the love of God, brother, if you have one in your house, get rid of it. Take it out. And not only take it out of your house, take it out of your heart." Then a deacon came to me. He said, "Pastor, I
Chapter 4: Spreading the message
want a sign, too." This deacon loved staying up late watching television. He watched the late night programs. He said, "I want a sign, too." I told him, "All right, my son." He waited. About 15 days passed. He was still staying up late watching television instead of praying. "That isn't right. He would sit under a blanket with popcorn watching television." Then he said, "Pastor, I want a sign too."
I told him, "All right, let's fast. If anyone wants me to fast for you, come forward." But after that, I never asked God for another sign. That experience was serious. I still carry the memory of it with me today. Every time I tell this testimony, I go through a spiritual battle. But I once preached this message to about 1,000 people at a Presbyterian church. 300 people threw their televisions away in the name of Jesus.
300 souls. Oh, what a wonderful Jesus. Then one of the presitterers came to me. He was watching the late night television program and suddenly two faces appeared on the screen. Then something that looked like a monkey came out of the television. It looked at him and said, "Hey, little believer. You belong to me." The brother became terrified. He grabbed the television and said, "What is this?" "The blood of Jesus.
Jesus has power." He opened the window. There was an empty piece of land outside. He shouted, "Satan, get out of my house." and he threw the television outside and he was delivered for the honor and glory of Jesus Christ.
